Described in QuotedescribedInQuote
- Finishing his mail contract in 1872 Martin got a job on Planet Downs. One day when mustering cattle the men camped at a waterhole to boil the billy for dinner when suddenly they heard a hissing sound and a blackfellow's spear landed near Martin's foot. Immediately a second one pierced his leg. His mate bound the wound with a handkerchief. He was conveyed to Persbrook [sic] Station in a waggonette and attended to by a doctor at Rolleston. Mr. Martin learned some years afterwards that the spear was not intended for him.[1]all time · Row 0800 Eid 21316
