- The C. B. E. also states that the blacks still continue to be very troublesome in the neighborhood of Woodstock, Jarvisfield, and the surrounding stations. (Maryborough Chronicle, Wide Bay and Burnett Advertiser, 28 November 1868, p2). "On Saturday last Mr. Mark Reid, while returning from Townsville to Woodstock, accompanied by Mr. Andrew Ball, came upon the carcasses of two bullocks which had a short time previously been speared by the blacks. The dead animals were lying on the road, no attempt having been made by the blacks to conceal them. We are informed that this is by no means an unusual occurrence on the Woodstock run, which has not been visited by the police for a considerable length of time." (Cleveland Bay Express and Northern Advertiser, 28 November 1868, p2)[1]all time · Row 1272 Eid 38340
