  • Information of another outrage by the blacks reaches us from Campbell's station on the Tate river where two black boys and a gin were left in charge pending the owner's absence during the past week. A party of blacks had camped near the homestead and had made friends with those in charge, and they had been provided with habiliments, pipes, provisions &c. At the end of the week, at about nine o'clock at night, the mob suddenly pounced upon the two boys whom they beat so cruelly as to cause the death of one ; the other managed to crawl into concealment. The aggressive blacks then ransacked the premises and took away whatever they could lay their hands on, including rifles, revolvers, &c. The gin is missing and it is supposed that she has been taken off as a captive.[1]all time · Row 1328 Eid 38949
