Has Description of EventhasDescriptionOfEvent

  • Last Friday evening the unhappy farmer, C. Adams, was again stuck-up by his old enemies the blacks. Soon after sunset, he went out to look after his fires, burning the old logs and weeds, but a few yards from his house; he was away only a few minutes, and on his return found his house swept and garnished. The niggers had been afraid to enter the house in the day time, as there was a chance of their being seen by Adams' opposite neighbor, and they have probably been camped for the last two or three days hear at hand to the scene of their depredations, patiently waiting for the opportunity of walking off with the rations they had marked as their own. By this time they must feel they have a vested interest in Adams, and must hope he will have good luck and remain on the river.[1]all time · Row 1562 Eid 50159
