Has Description of EventhasDescriptionOfEvent
- Some blacks recently effected an entrance into Messrs. Travis and Co.'s wharf store, and were evidently making preparations for an ex tensive haul, when the night watchman on his rounds discovered and disturbed them, and they made off, taking with them a little flour and sugar. At the same time, it appears, the boat of Mr. McEwen was missed from the wharf, and it is now plain the same blacks made use of it in their flight. Melon, an aboriginal in the service of the Harbor Department, Maryborough, so soon as it became known that McEwen's boat was stolen, proceeded to the northern part of Frazer's Island, where with some difficulty he recovered the boat, as also another boat stolen by the blacks some time ago ; and also found out the names of the robbers to be Sambo, Yorkey, Wheelbarrow, and Bobby.
