Has Description of EventhasDescriptionOfEvent
- On the 31st January, a boat from the schooner EFFORT, lying in Wide Bay, was sent on shore at the northern part of the Frazer’s Island, for water. ... A seaman, known by the name of Harry, lingered behind the rest, and in a few moments a sound was heard as of a heavy blow, struck with a blunt instrument, and was followed by a shriek, The party ran into the scrub, after the captain had discharged a gun in the direction of the blacks. They found the seaman above mentioned lying insensible, with a severe wound on the right side of the head. He was conveyed on board, but had not recovered the power of speech up to the time of the vessel’s departure on the 3rd instant.—LAUNCESTON EXAMINER.[1]all time · Row 2521 Eid 68494
