| Described in Newspaper Quote | A diabolical outrage was perpetrated near Nebo on an unfortunate woman by a black-fellow on the last day of last month. It appears that a man named Murray is the stockman in charge of Drumcondra Station, twenty-five miles from Nebo. On the day mentioned Murray was away, and Mrs. Murray was alone. A Cleveland Bay black fellow named Toby arrived during the day, and was fed and otherwise well-treated. During the night he got into Mrs. Murray's room and committed a fearful outrage on her, after having tied her hands behind her back. The offender then went to a calf pen some distance from the bouse, and remained there the rest of the night. At daylight he left, after threatening to kill Mrs. Murray if she gave information to the police. He has since been seen at Nebo, and the police, who received information on the 4th, are in pursuit of him. | [1] |
