Has Description of EventhasDescriptionOfEvent
- ‘Inverleigh station was then known as “L” Lagoon and “M” Lagoon, and was owned by Mr. James Kennedy, a great sportsman and splendid stockman. He was set upon while in his hut on one occasion by a large number of blacks. He was found lying in his hut, with a dozen spears in him, but three dead black fellows lying at the door of the hut showed that he had put up a great fight before he was vanquished. He recovered from the wounds, though he suffered for a long time, and went to New Zealand, from whence he never returned.’ (Queenslander 17 November 1923, p15)[1]all time · Row 0966 Eid 23379
