The blacks, as it subsequently appeared, next mustered in large numbers, and threatened to kill every white man on the station, in revenge for the deaths of their six countrymen. They made the attack on Sunday evening, and drove the people in the out huts of the station, and some men in the employ of Mr. Douglas, whose property was adjacent---who were armed with one musket only—into a boat upon the river. About eleven o'clock on Sunday evening, S-I Rogers received information of the intended attack, and with five policemen and three volunteers, all armed, proceeded in a boat to Glenmore; when he arrived there he found the people on the river in a boat, armed only with this one musket. They stated that they had been driven into the boat but none of them had been harmed. When S-I Rogers and party came to the station, they found that the blacks had dispersed.
