Has Description of EventhasDescriptionOfEvent

  • The police received information on May 20 that two blackfellows, Sam and Johnny Campbell, both dropped dead near Ryan's Hotel, Eidsvold, on Saturday night, about the same time. Suspicions of poison are entertained, and an inquest will be held. Sam Campbell was well known in this district. Some years ago he was taken to England, and received a capital education, and could talk French and English as well as any white man. On his return to Australia, however, he joined his black tribe, and relapsed into the habits of his fellow blacks. (Week, 1 June 1889, p17).[1]all time · Row 0634 Eid 20223
