doc:agent/general-45/ef945e8a-6ddd-4cbd-b764-e0d5e3ca2e77[2025-05-09 23:21] ajaxdavis: jake built this cool thing, his resume as an mcp server -> https://ai.jakegaylor.com/ [2025-05-09 23:23] thecompoundgamer: Heyo <@806444151422976035> - I'm just building on the great work that came before me 🙂 [2025-05-09 23:25] ajaxdavis: https://tenor.com/view/chinese-monk-kid-gif-14444792503893600825 [2025-05-09 23:26] thecompoundgamer: I am working on giving people their own set of mcp tools. I see jsonresume is offering some ai tools now. i havent had the time to dive in deep on blah yet but I want to check out where it can fit into my stack [2025-05-09 23:28] ajaxdavis: yeah ignore blah for now, still working on a first release [2025-05-09 23:29] ajaxdavis: going to the beach today though, rarely do human things [2025-05-09 23:30] thecompoundgamer: that's whats up. enjoy dude! [2025-05-09 23:32] ajaxdavis: wheres the repo for your resume mcp [2025-05-09 23:35] thecompoundgamer: i pulled the server out into a library here https://github.com/jhgaylor/node-candidate-mcp-server You have to import it into an application that binds it to a transport. All the mailgun stuff in the readme is optional. you can straight up omit it. [2025-05-09 23:35] thecompoundgamer: im not in love with the implementation of the binding of the tools/resources/prompts. I was just playing with an abstraction. [2025-05-09 23:40] ajaxdavis: have you tried getting it working with the new standard http transport [2025-05-09 23:43] thecompoundgamer: Yes. my server is completely stateless so it's happy to work on any transport. I put this together to use http w/ express. it's what i'm using in my app https://github.com/jhgaylor/express-mcp-handler?tab=readme-ov-file#quick-start [2025-05-09 23:43] thecompoundgamer: it's just the example code from the sdk but hidden away a little bit [2025-05-09 23:44] thecompoundgamer: in hindsight i should have exposed a router instead of a collection of handlers but this is the current usage to add both sse and http transports https://github.com/jhgaylor/ai-jakegaylor-com/blob/main/src/express.ts#L53-L59 [2025-05-09 23:56] thecompoundgamer: what are you using underneath the hood? [2025-05-09 23:57] thecompoundgamer: im working with nextjs for my upcoming project. they have an adapter that is pretty straight forward but it makes too many assumptions for my taste (it adds a redis dependency) [2025-05-10 01:24] ajaxdavis: off to the beach, i will have a play around tonight though [2025-05-16 12:52] ajaxdavis: openai windsurf saga (files: image.png) [2025-05-16 18:51] ajaxdavis: <@617901379507322919> scrabble [2025-05-16 18:57] ajaxdavis: https://tenor.com/view/haters-gonna-hate-strut-cartoons-gif-10738628 [2025-05-16 23:10] ajaxdavis: https://tenor.com/view/2869993-hail-gif-12594371 [2025-05-20 01:00] thecompoundgamer: just in time. i am so over this java crap (gotta use java 8 for this game mod... thats like 30 years old). Now i can nudge some agents into existence maybe
